I love the beginning of a new year and how it feels like starting over. Each year brings a new opportunity to do something wonderful. Really each day brings that opportunity, but it is at the year’s end that I find myself reflecting the most and looking forward to what could be. During the day to day the mind is exhausted by… well the day to day of life.
This year, I set numerous goals as always, but I found nine that I want to share and track publicly:
• 50 dates with Jamie
• 12 joyful surprises for Jamie
• Hike 100 miles
• Walk 3.5 million steps
• Pay off $15,000 in debt
• Read 50 books
• Write 80,000 words
• Log 300 studio hours
• Create 100 works of art
During the coming month there will be some changes to my site to allow an easy way to share my progress.

So I decided to start a new business. I tried Superhero capes a couple of years ago and it did not really take off for me. December 31, 2010, we closed our doors. What an awesome experience! It was my first shot at having my own business. My intention was to learn and learn I did.
Now I am starting a new business, one that more closely aligns with my personal goals. I developed a personal goal that went something like this:
Inspire others, bring light where there is dark, and hope where their is despair.
I decided I could do this as a artist, writer, teacher and speaker. Once I defined this for myself, I published my first children’s book, One-Eyed Sam and the Purple Pillow and I did two speaking engagements. My third speaking event will be this Wednesday. Wow!
My new business bares the name Wilde Inspiration! Yeah! Much more reflective of what I want to give to others and encompuses all four outlets for my inspiration.
To get my business going I referred back to an old blog entry of mine, Business License. This post outlines the four easy steps for obtaining a business license in Utah. Strangely the information is still good. So if you are starting a business, please check out my old post.
